As providers of both private and public health services, the PremiaMed Clinics manage more than 750 beds. More than 1,100 employees work within the group of companies.


PremiaMed Management is the largest provider of private (non-charitable) hospitals in Austria and can look back on 19 years of experience.

Milestones

2009

Changes to the ownership structure. UNIQA Beteiligungs-Holding GmbH is now the majority shareholder with 75 % of the shares, 25 % remain in the hands of Merkur Versicherung AG.

The brand PremiaMed gets established. The company’s success story will be continued into the future under the new name of PremiaMed Management GmbH.


Top management of Best Health Austria GmbH.


Acceptance of the bid by the consortium of “hospitals” project management GmbH, the Healthcare Company and PremiaMed Management GmbH for the Farmers’ Social Insurance Institution’s Private-Public-Partnership project. A management take-over of the Rehabilitation Centres in Baden, Bad Hall, Bad Gastein and Bad Schallabach starts in 2010.


Management Consultancy contract for the Melnik Hospital in the Czech Republic. This public 270-bed hospital was recently acquired by a private insurance company. PremiaMed Management GmbH is helping to define the re-organisation of the business in order to safeguard the long-term future of the hospital.


Direct management of the Wehrle Private Clinic in Salzburg, which was previously managed by Diather Hospital Management GmbH.


2007

Management takeover, jointly with SVA, of the Malcherhof Baden Clinic (formerly the Rheumatism-Specialist-Unit Baden) in the framework of the PPP (Private-Public-Partnership) project for the Social Insurance Institution for Industry (SVA).

2006

Together with the Health Care Company and the “hospitals” project management GmbH, takeover of the management of the rehabilitation clinic Bad Gleichenberg in Steiermark, under a PPP-project with the Farmers’ Social Insurance Institution.

2001

Founding of the subsidiary company GeniaConsult GmbH.                                 

1999

Construction of the Graz Ragnitz Private Clinic as a joint project between Merkur Insurance AG, UNIQA Insurance and Wiener Städtische Insurance – the private clinic was opened on 4 October 2000. Takeover of the management of the hospital in Graz. In parallel to the opening of the Graz Ragnitz Private Clinic both of Merkur’s sanatoria in Eggenberg and St. Radegund were closed down.

1996

Due to the success and constant growth of the company the three insurance companies UNIQA, Wiener Städtische and Merkur took an interest in the company – a majority of the shares, which were previously privately owned, were sold to the insurers. This results in the following ownership structure:

1995

In 1995 the Döbling Sanatorium transferred from private ownership into the ownership of a private insurance consortium – who entrusted PremiaMed Management GmbH with its management - and the name was changed to Döbling Private Clinic.

1994

After the Confraternität Private Hospital was put under temporary management by PremiaMed Management GmbH following bankruptcy in 1994, the insurance consortium who became the new owners of the Confraternität Private Hospital then transferred what is today the Confraternität– Josefstadt Private Clinic into full-time management by PremiaMed Management GmbH.

1991

Founding of PremiaMed Management GmbH (at that time under the name HUMANOMED Krankenhaus Management GmbH). Julian M. Hadschieff MSc is a co-founder, share-holder and managing director.
